Randi and Shelby Cashman grew up in West Point, NY. They are from a family heavily involved in the equine industry. Their parents, Peter and Sherry Cashman, are the equestrian team trainers of the Cadets at the United States Military Academy. Randi and Shelby followed in their parent’s footsteps in becoming professional trainers. They both graduated from Centenary University, Randi ’11 and Shelby ’16.  Randi graduated with a degree in Equine Studies and a concentration in teaching and training. Shelby graduated with an Associate’s degree in Equine Studies. During their time at Centenary they each were a part of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association team that won many nationals championships. They each won the American National Riding Commission Championships their senior years out of the top collegiate riders in the country. Randi began her professional career at Top of the Line Stables in Chestnut Ridge, NY as the assistant show trainer. After Top of the Line was sold in January of 2016 (now Saddle River Equestrian), Randi was promoted to head show trainer. Shelby joined Saddle River Equestrian in May of 2016 creating a young, yet very talented team with immediate success winning championships at WEF, HITS and many other horse shows in the junior hunters, children’s hunters, 12-14 equitation, children’s ponies, short stirrup and more. Their passion not only lies in training riders to become their best but also in training the horses to attain their maximum potential.

Frank and Lisa Ahearn got their passion for horses through their daughter, Sophia, Sophia is fourteen and has been riding for seven years at what is now Saddle River Equestrian.  Sophia’s riding has progressed to where she is now competing at Hits, WEF, Gladstone, Lake Placid and other top-rated shows.  Her success has hinged on a combination of her steadfast work ethic, quality training, coaching and having quality horses to show.  Sophia’s first pony, Hope is the reason behind the name Esperanza (Spanish for Hope). Frank and Lisa decided to start Esperanza Imports to bring over only the highest quality horses from Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
